Handling part-payments cleanly

For larger jobs, billing in parts keeps cash flowing and the client comfortable.

Two clean approaches

• Milestone invoices: raise a proper tax invoice for each stage as it completes. Each one carries GST and stands on its own.
• Advance then final: take an advance with a receipt voucher, then a final invoice that adjusts it.

Avoid leaving a single invoice 'part paid' with no record of the rest. Track outstanding amounts so you know what to chase.
